A Kentish Partnership Ceremony

A Kentish Partnership ceremony includes not only the legal registration of the partnership but also the ability for couples to make the ceremony their very own.  This is achieved by couples either writing their own ceremony or making selections from the ceremony booklet which lists choices for each part of the ceremony.

Many couples write their own ceremony to include words, promises and vows personal and exclusive to themselves. Registration staff are happy to discuss and offer advice about the ceremony content, which must be non-religious.

It is important that the partnership ceremony chosen by the couple is appropriate to them, their experiences and beliefs, and their family and guests. The selection of vows and exchange of rings is a visible sign of the promises and commitment that the couple make to each other, both within the ceremony and for their future lives together.

The involvement of families and guests in A Kentish Partnership gives a personal warmth and quality to the ceremony for all that are present.

Poetry and Music

Family and friends often take part in the ceremony, read poetry or prose and give a message of celebration on behalf of the happy couple.

Everyone can enjoy the couple's choice of music, which may be contemporary or traditional. String quartets, live groups, jazz and soloists also provide a distinctive and memorable addition for all the guests to appreciate.

Commemorative Partnership Scroll

A commemorative scroll designed by Alan Craddock -The Medieval Scribe - is presented to the couple at the end of their Kentish Partnership ceremony.  This is a perfect reminder of the ceremony and could be framed or used at the beginning of a photo album.
