Renewing Your Vows
The ceremony can be a unique opportunity to celebrate a special anniversary, such as the tenth or twenty-fifth, but it does not have to be just to celebrate an anniversary. For other couples it helps to confirm their commitment to each other or for many it is just a personal statement of their love for each other and can be the precursor to a party or celebration. Where couples have married or entered into a civil partnership abroad which is recognised in this country, they can, on their return home, feel a need for some form of ceremony. Family and friends, who could not attend their original ceremony, can now share in the couple’s celebrations and a Kentish Renewal of Vows ceremony can provide the answer. The couple could repeat their exact vows they used when they were abroad or they can choose new ones. Whilst this ceremony has no legal effect it is a public statement by a couple of their continuing affection, love and commitment to each other.
