We take a look at five beautiful Kentish venues, each replete with picturesque water views and an abundance of nature.
Chilston Park, Lenham
Set within 22 acres of private grounds to explore, this is a romantic retreat like no other with everything you need in one place; from ceremony and reception, to accommodation and breakfast the morning after. The traditional English country house estate, which can accommodate 150 for a ceremony and 250 for the evening, overlooks immaculate lawns and the tranquil lake – the perfect backdrop for every moment.
The Orangery, Maidstone
Nestled within nine acres of beautifully landscaped gardens with a tranquil lake and tumbling waterfall, The Orangery is an exclusive-use wedding venue with endless photo opportunities. Set beside the River Len, the venue can accommodate 150 for a ceremony and 250 for a reception. Outside, the natural beauty of the water creates a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere, with the boathouse as a backdrop.
Inn on the Lake, Gravesend
Set on the edge of three lakes and surrounding woodlands, the Inn on the Lake is a large venue with panoramic views. The Lakeside Room is able to hold a capacity of 200 people. Couples can marry outside overlooking the lake, dine inside with panoramic views and finish the evening with a barbecue on a private lakeside terrace with fireworks on the jetty overlooking the 30-foot fountain. Guests can drink, eat and socialise with views of the lakes and, for guests travelling from far and wide, couples really enjoy having their families and loved ones stay overnight.
Botany Bay Hotel, Broadstairs
If you are looking for a seaside setting for your big day, Botany Bay Hotel offers panoramic sea views with its clifftop setting. Couples can capture memorable moments together with their wedding guests on the beach below, before returning to the Kingsgate Suite at the hotel for their reception and entertainment as the sun sets across the horizon.
The Beacon House, Whitstable
The beach-facing house and grounds provide an intimate and unique setting for you to create your ceremony and stay. With sea views from every room, the house has a New England feel, with its wooden frontage, distinctive veranda and wrap-around decking. Licensed for ceremonies, The Beacon House can be your home at which you prepare, marry, host and celebrate the morning after. The team at The Beacon House can provide a complete event or elements of it, offering planning, chefs, photographers, designers, artists and entertainers.
