Location
The Pines Calyx is located on the white cliffs coast in Kent, just a stone’s throw from the beach at St Margaret’s Bay. A charming, secluded village, St Margaret’s Bay can be easily reached from London – just over an hour away on the high speed train from St Pancras. Local accommodation is plentiful with public houses, B&Bs, holiday cottages and two family-run hotels primed to welcome your wedding party.

Architecture
Comprising two light and spacious roundels, the building’s architecture embraces the natural environment with a contemporary, low-impact design that lends itself to the peaceful and tranquil surroundings. Fusing cutting-edge technology and ancient construction techniques, the building has won various awards for its forward-thinking design. Since its opening in 2006, The Pines Calyx continues to be one of the UK’s leading sustainable venues.

Facilities
While the lower roundel offers the setting for the ceremony and evening entertainment, the upper roundel serves to host the wedding breakfast.
In addition to its two light and spacious roundels, the venue has an airy open plan foyer and a cosy bar. With its natural simplicity, let your wedding ideas flourish in this bright, contemporary space. Style it to your way, be it natural, vintage or eco-chic.
The lower roundel has amazing light and acoustics, perfect for your wedding ceremony. Afterwards, experience breathtaking sea views and a beautiful landscape - yours for those all-important photos. Let your guests spill out onto the private terrace and venue garden. They can also explore the six acres of organic parkland around The Pines Calyx.
The venue can accommodate up to 80 guests during the daytime and 120 guests for the evening reception. The venue’s private terrace and exclusive garden area can be accessed from the lower roundel. Your guests also have access to explore the six acres of organic parkland around The Pines Calyx.

Catering
The Pines Calyx in-house catering team are on hand to tend to the requests of each and every couple. Incorporating fresh local produce from award-winning suppliers and the venue’s own organic garden, guests will delight in the catering options on offer. Couples can choose from a wide variety of reception drinks, including homemade lemonade, Mojitos and classic Pimms. Complementing the menus, house wine is on offer for each table and the respective toasts, while an upcycled bar will run all day until 10:30pm. A corkage option is also available. Two wood-fired ovens on the terrace provide the perfect opportunity to enjoy an evening al fresco experience, while relaxing ahead of the night’s celebrations.

Entertainment
The lower roundel provides the perfect environment for the evening entertainment, presenting an ideal area for acoustics and space. The Pines Calyx will even help you find the musician, DJ, acoustic duo or small band for your evening reception, offering contacts who understand the building and are sympathetic to the venue’s location.

Couples can choose from one of three venue hire options:
Ceremony only
Full day with ceremony through to evening reception
Evening reception only

Charity
All fees paid for your wedding will contribute to the Bay Trust’s ongoing charitable work; creating outdoor learning opportunities for local people and enhancing the local environment.
