You wouldn’t expect to find a secluded, two-tier wedding venue on the edge of Canterbury city centre, but St Martin’s Priory is exactly that. Fondly known as Canterbury’s hidden gem, our venue offers the look and feel of a country retreat, in the heart of the city.

Only a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of the city, this charming wedding venue is situated within the World Heritage site of St Martin’s Church and boasts a Grade II listed building, as well as 2.5 acres of private, enchanting gardens and lawns.

Holding your wedding at St Martin’s Priory would be the perfect start to your married life. The venue is licensed to host ceremonies of up to 80 guest in the warm, but awe-inspiring wood panelled Jacobean Suite; for a more intimate ceremony, our Garden Room offers the opportunity to have your ceremony next to the backdrop of our grounds.

Guests could enjoy a splendid drinks reception on the Tudor Lawn while the bride and groom are whisked off for memory-making photos amidst the romantic Rose Garden. St Martin’s Priory pride themselves on offering each couple the opportunity flex their creative muscle and create a unique day built around their true personalities. There is no request too strange, from bouncy castles to bucking broncos our couples are afforded the freedom to make their day truly personal!

Due to the personal approach at the venue, each couple can relax knowing that they are able to access the venue the day before the event to add any personal touches and are offered the opportunity to collect their belongings after the event, giving you the space and time to enjoy your wedding night.

Our brand new garden bar is a perfect place for guests to relax and unwind in our luxurious gardens and a fully stocked bar and bar service is included in the venue hire. We also offer a free wedding coordinator service and each couple will sit down with our executive chef for a tasting session to find the right menu for your special day. From informal hog roasts, to elegant three course meals, our venue and our catering team are versatile and flexible and will cater to each couples needs on a bespoke basis.
